The 19th international comics conference opened on Saturday (4/11) in the ancient city of Anyang,
central China’s Henan Province.
The comics conference successfully attracted more than 1,000 cartoonists and animators from 12
countries and regions, including China, Japan, South Korea and Singapore.
A total of 2,931 comic works from 29 countries and regions are being exhibited at the 19th
International Comics Conference, which will run until November 8.
A special exhibition about Chinese comics over the last 30 years was also presented, displaying
the masterpieces of 70 Chinese cartoonists.
The international comics conference was jointly initiated by cartoon industry organizations in China,
Japan, South Korea and other countries and regions in 1996
