The Irish Sun revealed how Jonathan Lam was opening New Lam’s Chinese beside the original Lam’s fast food shop owned by his dad.

Ken Lam, 67, has been in business on Dublin’s Ballyfermot Road for 32 years – with Jonathan working at Lam’s Chinese for 20 years.

But a war of the takeaways is now underway after the 39-year-old was let go from the firm last year after asking his father for a pay rise.

Former Lam’s worker Jonathan has just completed his first week in business since opening a new Chinese outlet next door to his dad’s.

New Lam’s is now taking orders at 284 Ballyfermot Road alongside the original Lam’s at 286 Ballyfermot Road in face off dubbed the “Succession of Ballyfermot”.
