The First Large Chinese-Made Cruise Ship Arrives in Shanghai


After five years of designing, building and sailing trials, China’s first large-scale cruise ship, “Adora
Magic City”, arrived in Shanghai on Saturday (4/11), and its maiden voyage is scheduled for
January 1 2024.


To date, China has been able to build aircraft carriers, large liquefied natural gas carriers and large
cruise ships, which are the most challenging shipbuilding projects, according to the China State
Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC).


The 323.6-meter-long cruise ship with a gross tonnage of 135,500 tons can accommodate up to
5,246 passengers and has a total of 2,125 guest rooms, said CSSC Shanghai Waigaoqiao
Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (SWS), the ship’s manufacturer. The following is a glimpse of the interior of the cruise ship as captured by the camera lens:
